Assessment of Leaf Surface Residues for Selected Organophosphorus Insecticides.

The results of a study of leaf insecticide residues are presented. General methods used to collect data from study sites in Arizona, California, Florida, and Texas are reviewed, including procedures for insecticide application, sample collection, leaf surface area measurement, meteorological evaluation, and test sample analysis. Data is included on the following variables: comparative residue concentrations based on type of sampling; degradation process of ethyl-parathion (56382), methyl-parathion (298000), ethion (563122), and Trithion (786196); parathion (56382) degradation following different application methods; the effects of weather on insecticide residues; and residue dynamics in the four different study regions.
