A Final Report for Heat Stress Instrument Development (WBGT Integrator) Contract HSM 099-71-20.
Yellow Springs Instrument Co., Inc., Yellow Springs, Ohio, 1972 Aug:18 pages
An instrument for heat stress measurement was developed. The instrument is a battery powered portable thermometer that consists of measuring circuitry and indicating meter mounted in a waterproof case. The instrument displays temperature information from three sensors: globe temperature measuring radiant energy; natural wet bulb temperature measuring relative humidity; and dry bulb temperature measuring ambient air temperature. The instrument displays either the actual temperature of a specific sensor or a heat stress index. The author notes that this instrument measures the indicated parameters with an accuracy within 5 degrees of the true temperature in the range from 15 to 120 degrees C.
