The carcinogenic, mutagenic, and teratogenic effects of vinyl- chloride (75014) (VC) are reviewed. Cancer risk among workers exposed to VC is discussed, along with cancer risks and birth defects in populations residing near VC polymerization facilities. Data on fetal mortality among offspring of workers exposed to VC also is provided.
