Health hazards of 2-nitropropane (79469) are reviewed. Production and exposure to the chemicals are discussed, along with its characteristics. Results from carcinogenic studies are presented. Recommendations for employees, employers and physicians to reduce the hazards of 2-nitropropane are given. The authors conclude that 2-nitropropane is carcinogenic in laboratory rats and is a potential carcinogen in humans.
