Failure Report No. S212.
NIOSH :8 pages
Test results using the NIOSH analytical method S212 for chloropicrin (76062) are reported. Samples are collected using solid sorbents and are analyzed by colorimetry, high pressure liquid chromatography with an ultraviolet detector, or gas chromatography with an electron capture detector. Recovery rate data for silica-gel (10193369), charcoal (16291966), XAD-2 (9060053) and Tenax-GC sorbents is included along with stability data for XAD-2 and Tenax-GC and breakthrough rates for Tenax-GC. The method was unsatisfactory because none of the sorbents provided sufficient desorption efficiency, storage stability and collection efficiency.
