Worker exposures to vinyl-fluoride (75025) (VF) were surveyed on March 23 to 24, 1977, at E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (SIC- 2821) in Buffalo, New York. The company employed 470 workers, and provided on site medical services and routine environmental testing. Eight personal and four general area air samples were analyzed for VF. Concentrations of VF varied from 1 to 5 parts per million. Engineering controls such as ventilation and enclosure systems, and housekeeping practices were satisfactory. The author recommends that VF exposures be kept to a minimum until the health hazards of the chemical can be established.
