Abstract
Test results using the NIOSH analytical method S83 for cyclopentadiene (542927) are reported. The technique involved sample collection on Chromosorb 104 coated with maleic-anhydride, desorption with ethyl-acetate and analysis by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection. Analytical apparatus, reagents and procedures are described, and calculations used for calibration and standardization are provided. Data on recovery and stability rates, collection efficiency and desorption efficiency is included. The method was unsatisfactory due to instability of the coated sorbent.
