Abstract
Information on the manufacture and use of fluorocarbons and on the employment of United States fluorocarbon industries (SIC-2869) is presented. Physical and chemical properties of major commercial fluorocarbons are reviewed, and data on fluorocarbon production rates and estimated occupational exposures is included. Uses of the compounds as refrigerants, propellents, and as components in waxes, lubricants and other products are reviewed. Recommendations for industrial and epidemiologic surveys of selected fluorocarbon facilities and exposed populations are included.
