Abstract
Work exposures to sulfuric-acid (7664939) mist were determined at the United States Steel Corporation (SIC-3312) in Dravosburg, Pennsylvania, on March 2, 1979. The company was under consideration for inclusion in a NIOSH study of the health effects of occupational sulfuric-acid exposure. The company employed about 3,700 workers. Personnel records provided demographic information and work histories. Sulfuric acid mist samples were collected and analyzed by ion chromatography. Sulfuric acid concentrations ranged from this facility can be used for an indepth epidemiologic study only if better records cannot be found elsewhere.
