Abstract
Worker exposures to asbestos (1332214) were surveyed at the H. K. Porter Company were surveyed in Huntington, Indiana, on November 14, 1966. Samples with fibers greater than 5 microns in length ranged from 0.5 to 15.9 fibers per cubic centimeter (f/cc) for the mixing, coating and extruding work areas; 0.1 to 13.3f/cc for the forming area; 0.5 to 13.0f/cc for hot pressing operations; 1.6 to 11.7f/cc for baking work; 2.0 to 15.3f/cc for grinding and sanding operations; 0.1 to 15.6f/cc for cutting and drilling operations; and 1.2 to 27.3f/cc for the inspection and packing work areas.
