Abstract
Worker exposures to asbestos (1332214) were surveyed in May and June, 1970, at Johns-Manville Corporation (SIC-3292) in Long Beach, California. In the asbestos cement pipe facility, asbestos concentrations in personal air samples ranged from 0.0 to 2.1 fibers greater than 5 microns per cubic centimeter (f/cc). Asbestos concentrations in personal air samples from the insulation area ranged from 0.1 to 1.9f/cc. All samples were below the 1970 threshold limit value of 5 fibers greater than 5 microns in length per milliliter.
