Men's Apparel Industrywide Study at Glove Tailoring Co. and Magliano Pants Co., Cincinnati, Ohio.
NIOSH 1974 Sep:2 pages
Hazards associated with the men's apparel industry were surveyed on February 7, 1974, at Globe Tailoring Company and Magliano Pants Company (SIC-2327), in Cincinnati, Ohio. Both companies were located in the same building and employed a total of 400 workers. Globe Company maintains an on call physician and has a safety worker who is trained in first aid; health program information for Magliano Company was not provided. Ventilation was provided by a central air conditioning system. Work process did appear to generate significant amounts of dust, however, fabric scraps were left on the floor until the end of the day. No environmental measurements were made. The author suggests that noise dosimetry studies be conducted on operators of certain machines, and that dust and lint generated during the work process be analyzed.
