Abstract
Asbestos (1332214) and noise exposures at Raybestos-Manhattan Asbestos Textile Company (SIC-3292) in North Charleston, South Carolina, were surveyed on January 15 to 17, 1974. Personal air samples were collected on millipore filters and were analyzed by phase contrast microscopy. Average exposures in the yarn forming, spinning, weaving and cloth cleaning areas were 0.3 to 2.0, 0.50 to centimeter. The greatest noise level was 93 decibels in the weaving area. Tabulated data on individual measurements is provided.
