The major activities of NIOSH during 1977 were presented. The main areas of concern were occupational reproductive hazards, manpower development, control technology, respiratory disease and safety research. Research areas, types of technical assistance, hazard evaluation, and surveillance measures were discussed along with support services, criteria documentation, occupational health standards development and the special foreign currency program which included research agreements in Yugoslavia, Poland, Egypt and India.
