Abstract
The final report of the Agricultural Task Force analysis of NIOSH strategies for agricultural safety and health (ASH) is presented. A summary of current federal and some state governmental ASH activities is given. The five ASH activity areas of problem identification and priority determinations, research, criteria development and standards setting, employee and employer education and technical assistance, and service delivery mechanisms are examined. Specific objectives and projects in accordance with the NIOSH program planning policy are presented. Suggestions for certain actions to be taken by other governmental agencies are also given. The authors suggest that a permanent Agricultural Safety and Health Program Advisory Committee be appointed to direct and monitor NIOSH agricultural safety and health activities.
