An information profile on the potential occupational hazards in the tire manufacturing industry (SIC-3011) is presented. Process descriptions, relevant chemical and physical agents, the number of workers exposed or employed, biologic effects of agents encountered, and existing exposure standards are included. Incidence of mortality, injury, and morbidity is given. NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluations pertinent to the industry are reviewed.
