Industrial process - corrosion inhibitors manufacture and use.

An information profile on the potential occupational hazards of the industrial processes involved in the manufacture and use of corrosion inhibitors (SIC-2899) is presented. Process descriptions, relevant chemical and physical agents, the number of workers exposed or employed, biologic effects of substances used, and existing exposure standards are included. No relevant data was available on the incidence of mortality, injury, and morbidity. No pertinent health hazard evaluations conducted by NIOSH were available for this profile. The authors conclude that the substances in most commonly used in this industry are dicyclohexylamine nitrite (3129917) and cyclohexylamine carbonate.
