Industrial Hygiene Walk-Through Survey of Synthane Pilot Plant Bruceton, Pennsylvania.

The Synthane Pilot facility (SIC-1211) in Bruceton, Pennsylvania was surveyed on August 8 to 11, 1978 to identify workplace contaminants evaluate sampling and analytical methods proposed for industrial hygiene surveys, determine the feasibility of personal sampling, develop data for use in preparing a comprehensive survey protocol, and document and describe the company's working environment. During the survey, the facility was not operating according to specification and the sample analysis was postponed pending a decision by NIOSH. However, the synthane facility closed in December 1978, and alternate pilot facilities have been selected. The samples taken during the synthane survey were destroyed.
