Information concerning the control and exposure hazards of furfuryl- alcohol (98000) is reviewed. Guidelines are included for environmental and medical surveillance, product labeling, and the use of personal protective equipment and clothing. The biologic effects of furfuryl-alcohol exposure are discussed. Environmental engineering controls and safe work practices are described. Current exposure standards are included, along with current and future research recommendations.
