Control Technology Summary Report on the Primary Nonferrous Metals Industry. Volume II: Appendix A.
NIOSH 1978 Dec:298 pages
The primary aluminum (7429905), copper (7440508), lead (7439921), and zinc (7440666) production industries are described. Occupational safety and health data for the industries are presented. The health hazards in each industry were identified through a review of available OSHA data or by observations made at individual smelter sites. In some cases, information on engineering controls at specific facilities is summarized. Industry reviews are included for 9 alumina processing factories, 31 aluminum reduction factories, 15 copper smelters, 14 copper refineries, 6 lead smelters, 5 lead refineries, and 7 zinc production facilities that are currently operating in the United States.
