Abstract
The fire, explosion, and safety hazards of flammable and combustible liquids are described. Physical properties, flash points, flammable ranges, and ignition sources are included for common flammable and combustible liquids. Fire prevention methods, including liquid handling and storage, bonding and grounding, and removal of ignition sources and oxygen, are discussed. Fire protection training, and the use of portable fire extinguishers are described. Personal protection guidelines are included, along with first aid procedures. Waste disposal also is discussed. Addresses of NIOSH and OSHA regional offices are included.
