Recommended Health and Safety Guidelines for Coal Gasification Pilot Plants.
Enviro Control, Inc., Rockville, Maryland 1977 Aug:246 pages
Health and safety guidelines are proposed for workers in coal gasification pilot facilities based on earlier pilot plant experience and on known hazards and control procedures in analogous industries. A representative work process is described and toxicants and potentially hazardous operations are identified. Health effects associated with the toxicants are reviewed. Engineering controls, work practices, workplace monitoring, medical surveillance, and personal protection guidelines are prescribed. Research and development recommendations are made to provide an appropriate basis for evaluating, modifying, or adjusting control application to individual circumstances.
