Coordinated textile industry noise reduction program.

The progress between April, 1974 and October, 1977 of a noise reduction program for the textile industry was reviewed. The goals of the program included: collecting noise control information and data on effective noise control measures, conducting noise control research, publishing bulletins and papers, and compiling a noise control manual. Over 50 industry noise control case histories were collected; noise control research on spinning, twisting, and weaving was planned and conducted; a cooperative program was established between textile manufacturers, machinery builders, and equipment suppliers to conduct field evaluations of noise control measures; research results were disseminated through publications and at meetings; and a manual was compiled for noise control in the textile industry. Significant results of the noise reduction research studies were listed.
