The Use of Diesel Equipment in Underground Coal Mining.

Four work group reports are presented from a NIOSH workshop on the use of diesel equipment in underground coal mining held in Morgantown, West Virginia on September 19 to 22, 1977. Topics considered by the work groups are emissions and control technology, environmental characterization and pollutant interactions, health effects, and safety and productivity. Comments also are presented on a NIOSH draft document, "The Health Implications of the use of Diesel Engines in Underground Coal Mines".
