The influence of the work and home environment on the health of mother and fetus is the subject of a bibliography of English and foreign articles prepared by a core panel of occupational physicians and obstetricians. Consultants from various scientific fields were also appointed to provide information and guidance with respect to their particular disciplines. The effort was designed to help the practicing physician or obstetrician assemble and interpret the information necessary for appropriate clinical recommendations to pregnant workers about the potential hazards in their work and work environment. Among the topics discussed were: economic and legal aspects; reproductive complications; environmental factors; high risk pregnancy; the cardiovascular system; pulmonary system; musculoskeletal system; and neurologic system.
