Guidelines are given for manufacturers of industrial trucks and tractors to assist in providing a safe and healthful workplace by describing safe work practices and helping to correct some frequently encountered violations of health and safety standards. Instructions in establishing a health and safety program are given, as well as suggestions for employee training, environmental control and identification of hazards within the industry. The most frequently violated regulations within the industry regard: 1) walking and working surfaces; 2) exit and exit markings; and 3) handling of chemicals and tools. Recordkeeping requirements for the manufacturer are presented. In addition, an employee chemical protection chart is shown. Information resources available to the manufacturer regarding occupational safety are listed.
