The method is described for determining furfuryl-alcohol (98000) in the air, including the principle, range and sensitivity, interferences, precision and accuracy, advantages and disadvantages, apparatus, reagents, calibration and standards, and calculations. The principle is based upon gas chromatography of a sample drawn through a glass tube containing Porapak Q and desorbed with acetone. The range is 120-470 milligrams per cubic meter with a precision of milligrams per cubic meter.
