NIOSH analytical method sodium hydroxide backup data report S381 (Set 3).
Cincinnati, OH: U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Public Health Service, Centers for Disease Control, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, 1977 Jul; :1-28
The backup data report is given for validating the method for determining sodium hydroxide (1310732) in the air. Samples were analyzed regarding the collection efficiency on Fluoropore filters, storage stability, the response of the method to sodium carbonate (497198), accuracy by comparison with atomic absorption, and precision of the method. A diagram is given of the apparatus used for the back-titration of sodium hydroxide. The coefficient of variation is 0.0622. Attachments give results of analysis of sodium using atomic absorption, procedures for dilution and sampling system for aerosol test atmospheres, including diagrams of the system, use of apparatus for the generation of aerosols, and a summary of statistical terms and formulae.
