NIOSH 1976:S388-1 to S388-B-4
A method is described for the analysis of vanadium-pentoxide (1314621) dust in the air by use of filter collection, base dissolution, and flameless atomic absorption spectrometry/high temperature graphite atomizer. Data are given on the principle, range and sensitivity, precision, accuracy, advantages and disadvantages of the method. Also described are the apparatus, reagents, and procedure used; analysis of samples; interferences; calibration and standards; and calculations. It is noted that the method described is simple and specific for vanadium-pentoxide but not for vanadium (7440622) metal.
