Abstract
The molecular formula, Chemical Abstracts Service number, Registry of Toxic Effects of Chemical Substances number, production figures, uses, and producer and user data are provided for organoarsenicals, arsanilic-acid (98500), carbarsone (121595), nitarsone (98726), and roxarsone (121197). Organs affected by these compounds include lungs, liver, spleen, kidney, stomach, and the intestinal tract. Symptoms of poisoning in human beings include exfoliative dermatitis, conjunctivitis, upper respiratory tract irritation, and polyneuritis. The time weighted average threshold limit value for arsenic and its compounds is 0.5 milligram per cubic meter. A list is given of organoarsenical pesticides. (Contract No. 210-77-0120)
