Abstract
The molecular formula, chemical abstracts service number, registry of toxic effect of chemical substances number, production figures and economic trends, uses, and producer and user data are given for chromium-carbonyl (13007926), chromium(III)-chloride (10025737), chromium(III)-chromate, chromium(III)-fluoride (7788978), chromium(III)-oxide (1308389), and chromium(III)-sulfate (10101538). The biological effects of exposure are described, including acute, chronic and human effects. Some trivalent chromium compounds are carcinogenic, others are skin irritants, and they may cause pneumonconiosis. The threshold limit value for soluble chromic and chromous salts is 0.5 milligram per cubic meter. (Contract No 210- 77-0120)
