Glycidyl Ethers. Occupational Hazards.
NIOSH 1977 Oct:116-123
The chemical structure, chemical abstracts service number, registry of toxic effects of chemical substances number, production figures and economic trends, uses, and producer and user data are given for six glycidyl ethers, and mixed n-alkyl glycidyl ethers. The biological effects of exposure to these ethers is described, including target organs, acute, subchronic and chronic effects, and human effects. The best studied compounds, allyl-glycidyl-ether (106923), n-butyl-glycidyl-ether (2426086) and phenyl-glycidyl-ether (122601), exert their main effects on the respiratory system, skin and eyes, causing irritation. Some threshold limit values and other standards are given.
