Workshop: A Model System for the Delivery of Occupational Health Services in a Pre-Existing Medical Facility.
NIOSH 1977 Aug:53-63
The problems of providing adequate health care to workers in companies too small to have their own health departments are discussed, also the problems of community physicians who undertake these responsibilities. The questions of staffing, the occupational health and workmen's compensation acts, maintaining objectivity and confidential records, separation from other departments, educational programs, and communication are discussed. Some recommendations are given on staffing, size of buildings and departments, with concepts for the proper operation of an occupational health service within the premises of a group practice or hospital.
