Abstract
Review of lighting in the industrial environment, and the evaluation of lighting. Topics include: lighting terminology, purpose of lighting, illumination requirements for industry, industrial lighting equipment, lighting design, and lighting surveys. The data recorded during a survey are used to determine illumination levels, luminance values, and an indication of the degree of comfort and pleasantness in the area. The data are also useful in determining if adequate maintenance or lighting servicing procedures are in effect.
