Abstract
This manual was prepared for insulation installers to help them become more aware of some of the potential hazards of their day-to- day work in order to protect them from the hazards. Included are a general list of dusts from the commonly used insulation materials, the hazard from asbestos, the precautions to be taken in working with asbestos, recommended work routine, control measures (including engineering controls, administrative controls, substitution of materials, control of work practices and protective equipment) heat stress, noise, silica, other irritants, flammables, protection by the employer, first aid and medical care, and general good work practices.
