NIOSH Analytical Method, Isopropyl Ether, S368, (Set V).

A method is described for the analysis of isopropyl-ether (108203) in the air by drawing a known volume of air through a charcoal tube to collect the analyte followed by desorption with carbon-disulfide (75150) and injection into a gas chromatograph. The area of the resulting peak is determined and compared with areas obtained from injection of standards. Data are given on the principle, range and sensitivity, interference, precision, accuracy, advantages and disadvantages of the method. Also described are the apparatus, reagents, and procedures used, analysis of samples; interferences; calibration and standards; and calculations.
