A method is described for the analysis of nicotine (54115) in air, using adsorption on XAD-2 resin, desorption with ethyl-acetate, and gas chromatography with alkali flame ionization detector. Data are given on the principle, range, sensitivity, interferences, precision, accuracy, advantages of the method as well as on the apparatus and reagents required, procedure, calibration, standards, and calculations.
