Abstract
The standard method is described for the determination of mineral oil mist in air for use in compliance with the OSHA standard of 5 milligrams per cubic meter. The air samples are collected on 37 millimeter cellulose ester membrane filters, with extraction of the analyte with chloroform and analysis with fluorescence spectrophotometry. The method has been validated over the range of advantages and disadvantages, apparatus, reagents, procedure, analysis of samples, determination of sample recovery, calibration and standards, and calculations.
