NIOSH Analytical Method, Carbaryl (Sevin), S273, (Set S).
NIOSH 1976 Feb:6 pages
The standard method is described for the determination of carbaryl (63252) in air for use in compliance with the OSHA standard of 5 milligrams per cubic meter. The air sample is drawn through a glass fiber filter to which methanol is added to extract and hydrolyze the analyte. Para-nitrobenzenediazonium fluoroborate is used in colorimetric analysis. The method has been validated over the range of 1.96-13.43 milligrams per cubic meter, with a probable range of the test sampling was 0.057. Other information and data are given on the interferences, advantages and disadvantages, apparatus, reagents, procedure, calibration and standards, and calculations.
