Industrial Sound Level Meter Output Connection Tests.
NIOSH 1977:21 pages
A test is described that checks the effect on the industrial sound level meter of a 10,000 ohm resistive load at the output connection. The test is performed over the frequency range of 22.4 to 11,200 hertz. The test requirements are derived from the NIOSH regulation which gives a program for certifying industrial sound level meter sets and from the American National Standards Institute's "Specification for Sound Level Meters". The equipment required and the connection, calibration and test procedure are described step by step. Methods for calculating the industrial sound level meter readings are also given.
