Industrial sound level meter acoustical calibrator accuracy test.

A test procedure is described that checks, under minimal supply voltage conditions, the frequency and sound pressure level of an acoustical calibrator of an industrial sound level meter set. The test requirements are derived from the NIOSH rulemaking which gives a program for certifying industrial sound level meter sets and the American National Standards Institute's "Specification for Sound Level Meters". The apparatus required and the determination of acoustical accuracy by comparison to a known standard are described in detail. Details as to calculations and analysis are also given.
