Report assessing the work practices and evaluating the feasibility of implementing work practice recommendations in the Lucidol Division of Pennwalt Corporation, and in the Noury Chemical Corporation. Recommendations are made for engineering controls, personal protective clothing and equipment, labeling, work practices, and safe handling and storage of dry (98 percent) benzoyl- peroxide (94360) and other benzoyl-peroxide formulations. The major industrial processes involving potential exposure of significant numbers of employees to benzoyl-peroxide are considered. The basic steps followed for the gathering of information on the use of benzoyl-peroxide are enumerated. Contents also include medical surveillance, labeling, safety communication, work practices, sanitation and environmental monitoring.
