Third President's report is given on the occupational safety and health activities of the Federal Government, submitted to Congress under the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The report is in three parts: activities of the Department of Labor such as compliance enforcement, training and education, standards, state plans, voluntary compliance, statistical programs, legal developments in 1973; (statistical tables are appended on occupational injury and diseases incidence, rates, lost workdays, etc. and safety publications issued by the Department); the Occupational Safety and Health Review commission, including statistics, graphs, and cases reviewed by boards; and the Department of Health Education and Walfare, including NIOSH surveillance, development of criteria for recommendation of standards, applied research, industrywide studies, laboratory and technical services; manpower development and training.
