Basic Course Microwaves and Lasers.
NIOSH 1972 Sep:170 pages
A basic course is developed to instruct students at the second year college level in the fundamental operation and measurement of microwave and laser energy. The basic physics of microwave and laser energy is described in detail with methods of measurement. Emphasis is placed upon the biological effects of microwave and laser energy and upon methods for field survey of the safety of apparatus for production of such energy. Section 1 gives a set of lecture plans and outlines, and a list of reference material for the course. Section 2 gives a detailed lecture script for the instruction for each of the lecture presentations. It also describes the apparatus for the experiments with details of the experiments. Section 3 gives the set of figures and tables used in the course. Section 4 gives problems and exercises. (Contract No
