Abstract
A report on the use of solid sorbents as go/no-go monitors in portable detectors. The detectors have to operate unattended for 12- hour periods. When the gases in the monitored environment exceed a certain limit, the alarm sounds. Details are given of sampling probe and the concentration column. The concentrations that are expected to be detected are about 0.1 milligram per cubic meter.
