A review is made of the research activities of the Air Quality Measurement Methods Branch of the Environmental Protection Agency. The use of solid sorbents for the detection of sulfur dioxide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, and ozone is described, with a note on the ideal solid sorbent.
