A guide to industrial respiratory protection.

Current technical guidelines for the establishment and implementation of industrial respiratory protection programs are presented in a single document. Chapters deal with respirator selection, use, maintenance, and inspection, types of respirators and their advantages and limitations, respirator fitting and wearer training, respiratory physiology, respiratory hazards, and physiological and psychological limitations. Also included are samples of the decision logic used in respirator selection, guidance on setting up an adequate respirator program through formulation of written standard operating procedures, and discussion of the meaning of the "approved" respirator that meets OSHA requirements.
