Measurement of Asbestos and Quartz in Talc.
NIOSH 1976 Jun:21-51
The routine monitoring of talc for certain minerals by differential thermal analysis is described and compared to X-ray diffraction and spectroscopy techniques. Various mineral impurities are discussed. Thermograms are presented of different commercial grades of talc (8030840) with special attention given to the detection of chrysotile (12001295) and quartz (1317799).
