Thermal Analysis and Thermal Batteries.

Some applications of thermal analysis to studying problems associated with thermal batteries are presented. A definition of thermal batteries is given. Applications include the study of the thermal decomposition of zinc chromates, the thermal stability of Vespel (a high-temperature polyimide used as a rigid insulating material), determining phase diagrams for the salt systems that are used in the thermal batteries, measurements of heats of reaction or reactions between some of the thermal battery constituents.
