Abstract
According to a critical discussion, farming presents potential for industrial exposures to chemical hazards, physical hazards and biological hazards. Illustrative examples are given of industrial hygiene problems associated with farming. Reasons why industrial hygienists have largely ignored the farming sector are discussed and possible means for professionally serving this occupational group are voiced.
